The young NICO LAHS is currently polarizing the scene with his flood of releases in international record shops and his gigs. Kicking out tracks and remixes for names like David Keno, Timos or Sercan he assures the “Who is Who” of the House scene… Look out for Nico, you’ll definitely hear a lot of him in the next time!
Some words…
Hey Nico, how are you?
Yo guys! It’s all good, thanks!
Have you been on road this weekend?
No, but this week I have to play in my city.
How does a typical day after party look like?
I like to do some music. My mind is full of ideas the day after the party! Also I love talk on skype with my friend Julien Sandre or just stay with my family, with my sister Ross and my friend Pam (she loves Disco!) Otherwise sleeping all day.
Did you ever experience anything crazy at a gig?
I think all paries are a crazy experience.
What are your musical influences?
I like all kinds of music. I really like Hip Pop and Rock like Billy Idol, Tupac or even Snoop Dogg – and of course electronic music!
What’s your all-time favourite track?
I don’t have one in particular, but here are 3 tracks: “Roger Sanchez – Another Chance”, “Coldplay – Clocks” and “Benjamin Diamond – In your Arms”.
Which equipment do you use for producing your music?
I’m using an Apple MacBook, Ableton Live, Audio 8 Dj, M-Audio UC33, a Midi Keyboard, Pro8 Bi-AMP monitors, some Plugins, Native Instruments Komplete 8 and other stuff…
What are your future projects or releases?
My remix for Timos is out on “Big City Beats Tec” and a new EP with my friend Sercan is also coming Soon On “Strictly Chosen”. Soon thre will be out 2 more remixes in 12″ made with my friend UES. And actually I have to sign another Ep from me – but i prefer to talk about stuff like this after the sign!
Thanks for the interview. Any last words?
Yes, I like the way you work! Many hugs! See ya!
