014 – V.SEXION
April 28, 2010 in Podcasts
We love zaziki!
… and just because our honey bunny politicians destroyed the pretty good german-greek friendship we thought it’s our turn to change the situation! Here we go with V.SEXION, who we just need to introduce to you! You probably own a record of him on Suchtreflex, Diaphan or Catwash Records in your collection… So now it’s time to learn a bit more about the talent behind this stuff!
Some words…
Hey V., how are you?
I’m fine, thanks! Hope you’re doing well too…
Have you been on road this weekend?
No, not this weekend. I’ve been relaxing and working on some fresh stuff.
How does a typical day after party look like?
It depends on the party. But usually, after a party I prefer doing anything that might relax me.
Did you ever experience anything crazy at a gig?
I wouldn’t say that I’ve experienced anything crazy (at least not yet!). But every party is a crazy experience…
What are your musical influences?
Hmm, I’ve been influenced by so many genres and artists I can’t even tell. Just to name a few, music genres such as jazz, hip hop, funk, soul are sort of my most important influence. Of course, I wouldn’t leave out EDM, Kraftwerk, Detroit scene, US house and all the special artists and labels that represent them.
What’s your all-time favourite track?
All time favourite track… Really hard to pick out just one… But ok, just to sort a few.. “ Blake Baxter – Our Love”, “Moodymann – All Over” and “George Morel – Morels Groove”. I hardly doubt I won’t play them for years and years to come…
Which equipment do you use for producing your music?
My macbook pro with Ableton live 8 and Logic, Wardolf Blofeld Synth, Adam A7 monitors and a RME Fireface 400 soundcard.
What are your future projects or releases?
My EPs in Catwash and Diaphan just came out. Next month is coming out a participation in Percusa VA 6 and then a digital release on Flumo recordings. My next EP will be a collaboration with Acumen, which will be released in Area Remote in August. After that, an EP on Flumo LTD Vinyls and finally a split EP with another much respected artist that will come out in the upcoming label of Cosmic Cowboys, called Back and Forth.
Thanks for the interview. Any last words?
Thanks for your invitation and I hope you enjoy the podcast. Wish you all the best.
