May 15, 2010 in Podcasts

Something for your soul…

Jazz, Deephouse, Soul and Funk always played a role in our next podcast artist’s musical development. HENDRIK VOGEL is the one, who’s brining in some more deepness and with his projects, like “Nugath”, clearing out the borders between the genres. Friends, it’s time to do something good for yourself, your soul and your ears. Open the curtain, the show begins!

Some words…

Hi Hendrik, how are you?
tajjebh hafna.
Have you been on road this weekend?
Last one Freiburg. This one free, so podcast weekend.
How does a typical day after party look like?
Depends on the night before. As its best breakfast with some friends, and being outside, less music than the day before. And of course returning to my homebase.
Did you ever experience anything crazy at a gig?
Nightlife is crazy. Sometimes more sometimes less.
What are your musical influences?
The first mix I remember was mark farinas mushroom jazz and the essential mix of laurent garnier. On a trip to holidays by the car, I got in touch with Miss Kittins “radio caroline”. Really like this mix. Later I often went to Rainer Trueby s Rootdown, where it was a amazing to hear people like Theo Parrish or Gilles Peterson mixing. But I think what really made it, was to dance to this music. By that I finally got in touch with bassdrums!
What’s your all-time favourite track?
Pooooooh! Perhaps “Laurent Garnier – The man with the red face” or “Cinematic Orchestra – To build a home”.
Which equipment do you use for producing your music?
ABLETON LIVE as sequencer, a KORG NANO pad, YAMAHA KX 25 midi controller, Novation Nocturne, and all the stuff in the studio of a friend, where we record sounds!
What are your future projects or releases?
I’m working on own stuff at the moment, its more jazzy downbeat stuff. And there’s a collaboration with the poet Hollace Metzger, you hear her voice also on the podcast. And scenography should play a roll again.
Thanks for the interview. Any last words?
Of course thanks to you for releasing my podcast and your support!! And greetings to my parents in malta and also greetings to the north! And a nice summer to everybody!
