019 – MARTYNÉ
July 26, 2010 in Podcasts
Frankfurt is not Berlin!
Yeah, again it’s been a while since our last contribution, but sometimes it just doesn’t want to work as planned. Anyway. So MARTYNÉ is gonna present you podcast number 19. Living in Frankfurt and working for the Freebase Record Shop he has this typical great house surrounding which inspired him to kick out tracks on some labels. Lately he just released a track on the La Pena label. Not bad, as we think. Alright, so get this piece of digital sound sequence and enjoy summer time!
Some words…
Hey Martyné, how are you?
Hey Mate, I´m fine. Much to do at the moment, but it´s okay!
Have you been on road this weekend?
Yeah, it’s been a heavy weekend. Played on friday and slept the rest of it.
How does a typical day after party look like?
In most cases I just hang out. Nothing special…
Did you ever experience anything crazy at a gig?
A lot! But the craziest things happen after the party…
What are your musical influences?
Usual Suspects, like Ricardo or Richie, but also the guys from the American Old School House Scene like Kenny Larkin, Damier or Black Baxter. Detroittechno in general is really important.
What’s your all-time favourite track?
“DJ Assasin – A Face amongst the Crowd (Intrelled Remix)”
Which equipment do you use for producing your music?
Julien Bracht and me are really interested in playling our own samples via a big drumset. We got some microphones to keep up a good sound when we´re recording the drums. Further on, we got a MIDI-Controller / Keyboard and a small electribe. Nothing Special actually… We are more interested in playing with the drumset!
What are your future projects or releases?
Yeah, there’s a release on La Pena, “My Pussy” and a remix for Sonido Records. Julien is gonna produce an EP on the “Baile Musik“. Additionally I´ll release a remix for Toni Rios’ album togheter with Laurent Zappone. After that there will be an own Ep on Soap Records too. We will see what’s next!
Thanks for the interview. Any last words?
Vinyl 4 Life! If you´re interested in my music just check out my myspace!
